A Family Affair: Montana’s Story

“It was the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do,” said Mary Beth of bringing her son, Montana, to Children’s Hospital’s Transitional Care Unit (TCU) in February 2008. “It took me a while to get used to the idea of having him elsewhere because I wanted him at home” with his twin brother, Micah, and older sister, Victoria. Born six weeks early, Montana was a small but seemingly healthy newborn. But four days after his March 2003 birth, Montana developed an e-coli infection in his large intestine causing swelling around his brain, his organs to shut down and his bowel to perforate. The infection, which had no cause or cure, kept Montana in the newborn intensive care unit for five months and required three surgeries to eventually remove most of his large intestine.

This Fund enables Children’s Hospital to continue its tradition of providing field trips and other activities that are fun and educational to our inpatients and day patients throughout the year. Fall Events for Children’s Hospital

This fall was a busy one for us at Children’s Hospital!  All of our annual events were terrific and everyone who participated had a great time.  Events included the 7th Annual American Family Fitness 5K/10K Walk/Run, 27th Annual Teddy Bear Run, Fire Preventation Day, Sunshine Circle’s 27th Annual Holiday Mart and 38th Anniversary Dong’s Martial Arts Tournament to name a few.

Bowl-A-Thons for Children’s Hospital

AMF Shrader Lanes and Children’s Hospital invite you to put on your bowling shoes and bowl for charity! The event features two bowling
opportunities: the 16th Annual Children’s Hospital Foundation Bowl-A-Thon, open to the general public, and the 3rd Annual Battle of the Banks, open to employees and family members in all areas of the banking industry.
