Ways to Help

Kohl's Cares for Kids®

Emphasizing their commitment to safety, Kohl’s has chosen to designate proceeds from their Kohl’s Cares for Kids® program to support a year-long safety initiative partnership with Children’s Hospital. As part of the Kohl’s Cares for Kids® program, Kohl’s offers special $5 items for sale four times a year with 100 percent of the net profits donated to designated health and educational programs across the country. Typically, these items include children’s books, plush toys and seasonal themed products. They are offered beginning in January, May, July and October. The current selection includes an assortment of plush animals and books by Dr. Seuss®.

Items purchased from the Kohl’s Cares for Kids® collection at the five Richmond area Kohl’s stores benefit Children’s Hospital. Richmond area Kohl’s locations include:

Chester – 2701 W. Hundred Road
Brandermill – 4701 Commonwealth Centre Pkwy
Midlothian – 11331 Midlothian Turnpike
Mechanicsville – 7390 Bell Creek Road
Short Pump – 11240 West Broad Street

Since 2001, Children’s Hospital has received over $436,000 from this program to support safety initiatives including the “Improve Your Safety Sense” program and programs within the hospital such as the Kohl’s Quiet Room located in Children’s Feeding Program, a refurbishment to the Outpatient Therapy area and the purchase of a new bus to take Transitional Care Unit patients on community outings.
